VACATION PICS

just a warning....LOTS o' pics below!!

we left last Wednesday afternoon for a drive out to Southern California...to see John's family and my extended family.

Thursday morning we woke up early to meet up with John's mom for a quick breakfast. Then, with 1 of John's sisters (Auntie T was our hero for helping out ALL day!!!) we headed over to D*land.

One of John's other sisters (Auntie L) works for the D company so we got to see her for a few minutes before she had to go back to work.

Here are pics from our D*land adventure!

off center and hard to see us -I'm in the very back with Andrew in front of me, Auntie T and then Becca.

We forced Becca to go on this (Spl*sh Mountain). She screamed in any part that was dark and SCREAMED during this plunge...coming off the ride declaring she "hated this and will never do it again."

Now if you ask her what her favorite ride was she'll say "Spl*sh Mountain!" :)

Daddy is sitting with Andrew and Auntie T with Becca. Again-had to force Becca on this. She hated this too. :) It was apparently "too fast". She is such a wimp!!

Dumbo was more her style. :)
(don't worry -she's not going alone -I got in after taking the pics!)

this was how she spent much of her day -plugging her ears...so she wouldn't be scared. :)

I was the only adult willing to do this ride. The kids LOVED LOVED LOVED it.
me not so much...but I went on it anyway. :)

the longest wait of the day was to see the Princesses. 30 minutes we waited in line to meet 3 princesses. geesh! While we waited in line, John and Andrew did 3 rides!!!

The girls LOVED it though and got to meet Cinder*ella, Ar*iel, and Belle.

the kids LOVED being able to drive their own cars.

we finally headed out around 7pm
we were ALL pretty wiped -Elizabeth fell asleep as we left the last ride and got all the way out to the car.

even Andrew was pretty wiped -he was SUCH a trooper and walked the entire day -that's alot of walking for a 6 yr old!

Thank you Auntie T for staying ALL day with us. It was such a blessing to have an extra adult to help out when not all of us could go on a ride (ie: Elizabeth was still too short for most rides).

Thank you Auntie L for meeting us, even for a quick moment, at D*land.
And a big thank you to Auntie P who always puts us up at her house!!
We are blessed to have such wonderful family -both here at home and over in Southern California!

Saturday morning we drove down to San Diego to visit with my grandma, grandpa, aunt and cousins.
we spent a little over an hour Sunday morning at my grandpa's Alzheimer's care center.
It was good to see him and I think he, and the other residents, LOVE seeing little kids there.

then Sunday afternoon we watched the "big game" at my grandma's.
During the pre-game show my grandma did the girls' nails. :)

and the boys were glued to the TV of course. :)

We had a GREAT vacation, in spite of the constant rain Friday and Saturday.
but....we are glad to be home too. As we crossed the state lines the kids all cheered and yelled "we're home! we're home!!!"

You got some terrific pics at Disneyland, especially of your three babes together. It almost makes me want to go. You know, after working on the lovebird for awhile, it sorta kills any desire to spend time with crowds of people. But, the princesses... splash mountain..the teacups...the roller coaster.. Casey and Carly would adore all of it. Hmmm... So glad you got away. What a blast:)

Loved your Disney pics. I haven't been there since my kids were little, but we are going in March with my Alaskan daughter and her girls. We got the free "Disney for a Day" tickets!! Wahoo! Your pics made me anxious to try out all those rides again. And I know our girls will love those princesses! Looked like your three had a blast...Any tips?

You're a good mom for going on the teacup ride. I'll be the one taking pictures of Mark and the boys when it comes to that time - won't catch me on the teacups or any other spinny ride. That's for sure.
