They have the boys

Sorry - I know I am slacking! So they got the boys and the first day they went and ate pizza and they were pleasantly surprised that they both tried it and seemed to like it :). Then they did some shopping. Apparently they are not rested at all. Please pray they can sleep!!! I remember feeling "loopy" the whole time we were in Ethiopia because of the lack of sleep and elevation change, then add in kids that are totally rested and adjusting to you - whew - it is physically so hard!
They said that Biruk doesn't understand/speak any English but Eyob knows enough that he can translate a little. Also, Eyob has been showing them his soccer skills which they say are pretty impressive - so that is fun.
Here is what she posted on Facebook, "We're in Ethiopia -have the boys. things are good -we DEFINITELY have challenges ahead of us but hoping those will be worked out in time. please pray 4 the rest of our time here -John & I have hardly slept in 4 days -making just getting thru the day quite difficult. & please pray 4 our adjustment to the boys and theirs to ours as they learn our rules (something they are not very accustomed to having -rules! :) )"
Aren't they they the most handsome guys?!
Ok - also - I would love to set up meals for them. They will all be really tired and their little ones here at home will be needy for their attention and things will obviously be hectic for the first month or so as they settle into family life and rules, culture, doctor and dentist appointments etc. I believe their Bible study group has them covered the first week, then it would be nice if we could give them 3 days of meals every week after that for a few weeks. If you are willing, will you please email me at javijoy@cox.net. Thank you so much!

Oh, those brave faces! My heart melts seeing Biruk's face. He is smiling but I see the apprehension.

Praying for you. My specific prayer is that the boys see your love is deep and they trust in that.

Congratulations!!! So happy for your family - and thankful that you have a friend who can post updates (& arrange meals!) So wish I lived closer!!! Your boys are SO beautiful. Oh, and soccer skills? Luke's got them too...he laughs when we try to kick it around with him. ;-) Sending you prayers for your final day(s) and journey home!!! You are loved!

Jeanette,

I am so happy for you, but my heart feels very full as I try to imagine what you must be going through. You have my deepest respect, and I will pray for you especially tonight.

I'm sure this is the LAST thing you want to be thinking about, but I gave you a blog award - simply because I want you to know how much I admire you and am grateful for your blog!

May peace and grace surround each one of you, and may God's overflowing love cushion the "bumps" that come as each of you adjusts.
