Andrew had his first soccer game this past Saturday.
His team is the "orange crush" and his team color is burnt orange.
Some of y'all know John and I lived in Austin for 2 years and Andrew was born in a suburb of Austin. The one thing we grew to disdain the most while living there was the radical fans of UT-burnt orange was everywhere on game days...people even painted their vehicles burnt orange....it was not only nutty, but annoying! :) So when the coach handed Andrew a burnt orange t-shirt on Saturday, John and I HAD to laugh. The ONE color we never wanted him to wear...he is now wearing. oh well. at least they're "the crush" and not "the 'horns"!

Andrew did ok for his first game. He needs to get a bit more aggressive and actually run TO the ball instead of around or away from it. :) But he did score a goal!!!
And who woullda thunk it?! The Arizona Cardinals are in the Superbowl.

And have beat some amazing teams in the process...and not just by luck, but by actually playing well!
It's crazy I tell ya!
We are the first to admit we're total band-wagoners. But we were glued to the TV on Sunday, watching the Cards beat the Eagles.
As they were winning we kept saying to ourselves "is this really happening?" "they're not really going to win this thing are they?!"
And THEY WON!
Crazy. just plain Crazy!
Guess I know what I'm doing on Sunday February 1st...watching the Cards play the Steelers.

**interesting fact...our head coach used to coach the Steelers so he knows their strategies..will be interesting to see how that pans out!**

Your Andrew's soccer playing sounds a bit like my Drew's! Gotta love seeing those cute little guys running on the field~ even if it is away from the ball. But whoo hoo, a goal! Way to go Andrew!

I think burnt orange is a great color on Andrew :)
And congrats to your team. We were sad to see them beat (okay demolish) our Panthers... but they've had a great post-season and we'll be rooting them on in the superbowl!
Congrats to Andrew on his goal! That is a huge deal in soccer!!! My boys never really could get into soccer, especially Christopher, he just wasn't aggressive enough. But it is so cute when they are that age...they just huddle together and follow the ball up and down the field!
Yes, congrats to your Cardinals...I guess if they could beat us so badly a few weeks ago they deserve it! But, my boys will be cheering on the Steelers since big Ben graduated from Miami!
Cream the Steelers, pleeeeeeease!!!!!! (Not that I'm bitter about the Titans losing or anything. =p)
