it's official..our summer is here.
That means windows and doors will remain closed up for about 6 months.
It looks like we live in a dungeon cuz I keep all the blinds tightly shut and as many lights off as we can.
and the AC is now kicking on in the afternoon...6 months of higher electric bills :)
BUT -the one great thing about summer now is our pool! I'm actually looking forward to our hot summers (can't believe I'm writing that!) so we can use our pool all day long!
here is what we did yesterday for our first 100 degree day.

Andrew found my swim cap :)
later on I found him sticking his foot in it, stretching it, and then letting it fly across the room. :)

when John got home from work he checked the pool and it was 78 degrees. A tad cool for here, but warm enough he thought he'd let the kids try it out.
It was pretty chilly and Andrew was the only really brave one -he even jumped in and swam a bit!
The other night I was getting things ready for school time the next morning. Becca wanted to see the books she'd be reading...Andrew sat down with her and helped her sound out words.
what a sweet sweet big brother. :)

Wow! I can't believe it's almost swimming weather. Remember it was really warm until the end of November last year...well Kaylynn and her friend stripped down to nothing and jumped in right around mid-November. The water wasn't that bad.
That pool is an absolute MUST if you are already having 100 degree days.
I'd settle for about 20 degrees less than that. We're still hanging around in the 50s here :0(
That pic of Andrew is hilarious! I hope it's not too stretched out of shape for you now. =p And love the one of him helping Becca, too. What a sweet big brother!
I can't believe it's 100 in April. That pool sure will be nice.
Such a sweet big brother indeed.
Awww what a sweet brother!
Thank goodness you have a pool~ that's all I can say!
Josiah was laughing loud when he saw Andrew. They love to see the pictures of their cousins.

Have a great coooooooooool day!!! KJ
Andrew you are the best big brother!
100 degrees--that is crazy! We have had a couple of hot days but nothing like that. Enjoy the pool!
How fun! I love swim days! I was just catching up on your blog & also found out that you are going to adopt again! How very special. We will keep you in our prayers.
Blessings!
