We've had rain on and off the last 2 days or so. The pics above are from the BIG storm we got Saturday morning. LOUD thunder claps, lots of rain....lots of fun!
Becca was asleep when the pics were taken...and just as she came outside with her umbrella -the camera battery died and the camera shut down. :(
The rain we had yesterday was very much like Elizabeth's attachment issues.
We just emerged from another rough 8 days or so (therefore my lack of blogging and emailing friends!). The fear/insecurity cycle came on with hardly a warning...we're not sure what triggered it this time....and let me tell you, it was a frustrating week.
There are tell-tale signs Elizabeth is struggling with security....and as soon as I recognized them I stepped up the attachment games and baby time with her...hoping that would help "snap her out of it".
No such luck.
No matter what I did, Elizabeth struggled with security.
As suddenly as this cycle came on...it was over. By Friday mid-day, she was back to her "normal" self.
John and I both noticed it.
Just like the rain~Elizabeth's insecurities came, lingered, and then left without much warning.
I was exhausted last week -physically and emotionally. Fighting for Elizabeth's heart takes so much of my time and energy....and it's hard because I have to die to myself constantly~ and I'm forced to rely on the Lord for strength and patience I do not naturally have. (hmmmm..can you see a lesson I need to learn in this?!)
For now, we are enjoying the blessing of Elizabeth feeling "secure"....and we'll continue to do whatever we need to do to reinforce that we are here-going nowhere, and that we love her no matter what she does or how hard she tries to push us away.

So glad your week got better! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Our week was good, but the weekend struggling a little... change of routine is always hard.
awl..Bless her heart! I'm glad she's feeling Safe now!!! Keep pouring God's love into her.. as I know you are!! Hugs!
Looks like fun with the umbrellas. You probably don't get many thunder storms in Arizona...do you? We've had quite a few lately here in Ohio.
Looking forward to upcoming trip!
Cute umbrella pics!!
So sorry to hear about sweet Elizabeth. :( Thinking about you and praying for you!
Blessings,
Jenn
Oh those bumps can be so exhausting when they come out of seemingly nowhere. So glad you were able to find the root. Continuing to pray for your beautiful family. Hugs, Amy
Glad to hear this last round was short-lived. I think we're in for a long haul here as I've not been able to give M the attention she really needs between trying to plan, pack, prepare for the move and wedding, and just do the normal daily things that I'm falling behind in, too (we still have to eat and have clean clothes???). Praying for the day when E knows she safe and secure for always.
